Intro
"Burning Flames II" is not a a continuation to the first one. The storyline is very different although it still has the firemen aspect. All the characters are different and the plot is fresh. TVB made this series as a result of the hit of "Burning Flames I." By looking at the cast list, the series must do well and it did. However, this series took many aspects of part one to thicken the plot. Jessica Hsuan also makes a guess appearance as Wong Hei's dead wife. With cast members like Wong Hei, Annie Man, and Stephen Au, the series became quite entertaining and worth renting or owning.
Story Wong Hei's wife, Jessica, passed away in a car accident leaving a daughter, Kei Yu, behind. After this incident, Wong Hei became lazy and less devoted to his work to ensure that he does not die. In a sense, he does not want to be a hero because it might cause him his life and his daughter's future. He later meets Alex and Maggie who change his life. Alex Fang is Wong Hei's boss. After his divorce with his wife, he decides to be more devoted to his work. He meets Flora and the two have instant chemistry. Annie Man was the wife of a martial arts master. After her husband's death, she is taken care by her students. One student, Stephen, is attracted to her and she is to him as well, but Stephen is afraid that this will offend his late master.
Wong Hei
Of course he did a good job as always. However, I liked his character in "Burning Flames I" more because of the character development. Maybe it is the lousy ending or the resemblance to the first one. Wong Hei's chemistry with Maggie was great and the two looked perfect together.
Maggie Cheung
She did a great job. In the first few episodes, Maggie is very funny especially when she is around Wong Hei.
Stephen Au
Stephen did a great job. As you can see he is a very talented actor. Good choice of switching to TVB, Stephen. He has great chemistry with Annie.
Annie Man
Whenever I see Annie, I just know that the series is good. After switching to TVB, she did even better. Since she has a young face, it does not matter who she plays, the series always ends up good.
Flora Chan
Flora did okay. Maybe its because I have seen here in quite a bit of series where her character seems repetitive. I would like to see her as a villain in the future.
